Georgia SPCA Rescues Dogs and Puppies Seized in Jackson County Breeding Mill Raid
Gwinnett Daily Post 7-12-10
The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GeorgiaSPCA) has rescued 32 of the 74 dogs and puppies that were seized by Jackson County Animal Control officers and inspectors from the state Department of Agriculture from an unlicensed breeding operation in northeast Georgia on July 15. The Georgia SPCA stepped forward to take custody of the animals when it was learned that Jackson County does not have the resources to care for the dogs.
The Georgia SPCA is a not-for-profit pet rescue organization that operates a shelter and adoption center for homeless pets in Suwanee, Georgia. The Georgia SPCA will provide veterinary and other care for the dogs, including immunizations, spaying or neutering, deworming and microchipping, and will make them available for adoption to the public. Among the rescued dogs and puppies are Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus and other small mixed breeds.
