To discuss how we can assist in helping kids earn scout badges such as the Brownie Pets Badge, Junior Girl Scout Animal Habitats Badge, and Boy Scout Dog Care Merit Badge, Contact the Georgia SPCA. It is recommended these programs be conducted at the center in order to include a shelter tour with animal petting. In addition, if you are looking for a project that your scouts can participate in we have lots of great ideas!
Community Programs
We are very interested in developing partnerships with organizations in the metropolitan Atlanta area that are concerned about issues including pet overpopulation, animal adoption, animal abuse, and community education. If you would like our Executive Director to come speak to your organization, please contact us and indicate "Speaker Request" in the contact category description. Alternatively, you can call the center during business hours at 678-765-2726 and ask to speak with Jane Stewart.
We help children in the metro-Atlanta area understand the importance of pets and how their actions might affect pets. Our outreach efforts can span grade levels from elementary to high school. We can accomodate small groups (up to 30) at the center for tours and educational lessons, or alternatively we can come into your school and make a presentation. In either event, please provide as much notice ahead as possible so that we can plan a presentation that will best benefit the children.
